Overview
OSW's manufacturing facility brings heavy equipment production, paint booths, and office space together in one building.
The work extended well beyond the building itself, with extensive earthwork, wetland mitigation, stormwater detention, and utility coordination.
Supporting heavy manufacturing
The production floor needed to accommodate 5-ton overhead cranes in almost every bay and a press brake weighing more than 300,000 pounds. Two paint booths and a mixing room added substantial gas and electrical demands.
Gaffney built foundations to support the overhead cranes and heavy manufacturing equipment, incorporated the two paint booths and mixing room at the west end of the building, and coordinated gas and electrical service with local utility providers.
Site work and stormwater
The site required more than 35,000 cubic yards of cut and fill, alongside wetland mitigation and stormwater management.
Site work included an underground detention vault more than 485 feet long and areas of pervious paving.
